iPhone 6 Plus is like an asset to have, but as they are delicate, you should handle them with utmost care. Although handled with care, the mobile phones are destined to get scratches, and in worst case, you may end up with a broken screen. Now as you are dealing with the iPhone, you won’t want to replace the phone, so, the only solution that you can come up with, is the iPhone 6 plus screen replacement. You can either go with the service centre and pay them to replace the screen, or you can do it all by yourself by having some essential tools, and of course, a replacement screen. If you are interested in the latter way, here is the list of things, and steps you will need to follow in order to fix your iPhone’s screen.

Things you’ll need to replace the screen

The things that you will need to have before starting the screen replacement are listed as follows:

1. Replacement screen

Make sure that you are using either genuine or compatible (at least) screen. Using a local screen may cost you less than the original one, but the accessibility of the phone will surely be affected. So, it is better to stick to the original screen for the replacement.

2. Screw driver

An important thing that will be need to replace the broken screen is a screw driver. Make sure the screw driver is easy to handle.

3. Sim card remover tool

Sim card remover tool will be needed to unplug the sim card from the phone before starting the dissembling of the screen.

4. Case opener tool

The case opener tool will be needed to remove the broken screen from the phone.

These were the tools that you will need in order to replace or fix the broken screen of your iPhone 6 plus. Carefully choose the spares, as getting wrong spares can cost you more than your expectations. Apart from these tools, you may also need a suction to lift up the broken screen.

The steps needed to be followed:

1. The very first step that you will need to follow is to shut down your phone, and remove the sim card from it. Use the sim card remover tool to do so.

2. Use the screwdriver to remove the two screws placed at the bottom of the phone (the only screws on the external body)

3. Use the suction to lift up the broken screen (if you are not using the suction, use the case removal tool to dissemble the phone from the bottom)

4. Gently pull the screen up, and then remove the silver coloured shield by removing the five screws (placed on right hand of the battery)

5. Once the shield is removed, you can now unplug the cables used to connect the screen to motherboard. Carefully pull the cables one at a time to remove them.

6. Once done, carefully remove the screw surrounding the camera assembly.

7. Pull the camera assembly and the cables carefully (this may be attached with a glue, so pull up gently)

8. Remove the shield of home button, and then remove the button by pressing it from the front.

9. The next step is to remove the eight pull-up screws in order to remove the digitizer.

10. Replace the broken screen and reassemble the phone carefully.

Precautions

Although the steps are fairly easy to follow, we however, will suggest a few precautions so as to avoid any issues. These are:

1. Unplug the cables carefully. Make sure that you won’t damage any cable in order to remove them quickly. Use steady hands to deal the cables and other essential parts.

2. The screws may are of different size and shapes, so carefully remember the place where they have been used originally.

3. Once you have done reassembling, make sure that the phone is working in perfect condition as before.

By having things listed above, and keeping the precautions in mind while replacing the screen you can easily replace the iPhone 6 plus’ screen without any expert guidance. Just make sure that you are replacing the screen with a genuine/compatible screen so that you won’t encounter any usability issues later.

In short, we would suggest that rather contacting the professionals, you can easily go for the iPhone 6 plus screen replacement which will (definitely) cost you cheaper than the replacement done by the service centre.
